The last king of the nerubian empire of Azjol-Nerub. The was raised by Ner'zhul the Lich King as an undead crypt lord to do his bidding.

The Defiler,
Eredar Overlord of the Legion Forces,
Master of the Augari. Follows the demon lord (and corrupted titan) Sargeras.
Arthas
The prince of Lordaeron. In his quest for vengeance he picks up the Frostmourne blade becomes a death knight. Later he places the Lich King’s helmet on his head which causes him to be controlled by the Lich King.
Azeroth
Home to the three continents in Tales of Arthas: The Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, and Northrend.
Azjol Nerub
Underground area below most of Northrend. It is the home of the arachnid-like Nerubians.
Brill
The main town near the Lordaeron palace. Eventually taken over by the Forsaken and turned into the dwelling place for freshly created undead zombies.
Dalaran
A magical city that is mostly inhabited by mages.
Ertanion Gothel
A childhood friend of Prince Arthas. A son of a stable hand who later takes up training as a paladin.
Gilneas
A human kingdom west of Lordaeron.
Isillien
One of the leaders of the Scarlet Crusade.
Jaina
A mage who met Arthas in Dalaran and started a secret romantic relationship with him. Also was friends with Kael’Thas another mage.
Kael’Thas
An elven mage from Quel’Thalas. Friends with Jaina and nemesis of Arthas.
Kalimdor
The continent west of The Eastern Kingdoms. Home of the Night Elves and the location of the newly founded horde capital.
Kel’Thuzad
A lich who is a former member of the council of six mages in Dalaran. Corrupted by and now serves the Lich King.
King Menethil
King of Lordaeron and father of Prince Arthas.
Kul Tiras
A human kingdom with a strong navy.
Lordaeron
Home to the main human capital. Also where Prince Arthas, Alektra, Ertanion and Swaine live.
Lordaeronian
The people of Lordaeron.
Mal’Ganis
A minor dreadlord who lures Arthas to Northrend.
Mount Hyjal
Location of the world tree and one of the battles between Azerothians and The Burning Legion who are accompanied by The Scourge.
Muradin Bronzebeard
Leader of one of the Dwarven clans and mentor to Prince Arthas.
Murloc
A type of being in Azeroth that lives near water.
Northrend
The location of the Icecrown Citadel and much of the campaign against Arthas as the Lich King.

An Elven territory.
Silvermoon City
The capital for the high elves who later become known as the blood elves. Also blocks the path to the Sunwell.
Sindragosa
A dragon leader who is raised by the Lich King.
Stormwind
Another human city which is sacked by the horde in the 2nd war.
Stratholme
The city where Swaine lives in Lordaeron. Also the place where Arthas turns down a dark path.
Stromgarde
Another human kingdom. This one is located near the Alterac mountains.
Swaine Barthus
A childhood friend of Arthas. The son of a merchant who resides in Stratholme.
Sylvanas Windrunner
An Elven ranger commander who is raised as a banshee by Arthas.
Taelan Fordring
One of the leaders of the Scarlet Crusade.
The Scourge
An Undead army controlled by the Lich King.
Tichondrias
One of the Burning Crusade’s demonic leaders.
Tirion Fordring
The leader of the Argent Dawn, which is later changed to the Argent Crusade.
Uther
One of the first paladins. Also Prince Arthas’ mentor.
