King Arthas

“There’s a special place in hell,

Waiting for you,

Arthas.”

“I intend to live forever!”

Most dictators do intend to live forever,

Or to live in power until their death.

Of course, the previous set of quotes,

Came from an online game,

When one character’s life was about to wane.

Dealing with Dictators in real life,

Is no such game.

Yet, they have the same belief,

Confidence,

And a lack of humanity.

Similar to Arthas,

After he got his hands on the Frostmourne.

In Romania,

A dictator gave speech after speech,

Upon a balcony,

Towering above his people,

Gazing down at them like a human god.

But from his icy throne,

He felt their glowing eyes,

He raised his voice and grasped the edge of the balcony,

With an iron grip,

But the people would not submit.

When they finally turned on him,

It was time to call it quits,

For him to head home.

I thought of Arthas,

When I saw Maduro,

In modern chains.

After years of talking,

Running fraudulent elections,

Dancing around sanctions,

His power abruptly winked out.

He was plucked from his own throne,

Taken to a prison,

Instead of heading,

To an isolated home.

Power doesn’t last forever,

No one lives forever,

And certainly,

No one rules forever.

Just ask Arthas.
